St. Charles will host an exhibition of a framed, full-sized photograph of the Shroud of Turin. It is believed to have been taken by an Italian photographer named Giuseppe Enrie in 1931. This was the first time ever the Shroud was photographed without its protective glass case. Enrie, along with a Catholic priest and a French scientist, collected a series of negatives and documented the entire process in an effort to provide the truest representation of the original cloth. This particular photograph is one of only two known to exist. The other is in a private monastery in Spain and not on public display.
It will be on public display in the Church vestibule:
● Holy Saturday from noon to 5:00 PM ● One half hour before and after Easter Vigil Mass ● One half hour before and after all three Masses on Easter Sunday
