Baptism

At Baptism, Christ's Spirit and the community of believers embrace the one Baptized, committing themselves to be his or her loving companions in life's journey.


TO ARRANGE FOR THE BAPTISM OF A NEWBORN

Parents, who are the first to teach their children what it means to be a disciple of Christ, are asked to attend two preparation sessions prior to the celebration of baptism. The classes are offered quarterly.

BAPTISM CLASSES consist of two sessions:

  • Fall  session  2018
  • October 18 and October 25
  • Winter session 2019
  • January 10 and January 17 
  • Spring session  2019
  • March 21 and March 2
    (sessions in the Parish Center)
  • Early Summer session 2019
    May 23 and May 30
    (Session 2 begins with a potluck dinner.
    Families are asked to bring a salad or dessert if possible.)

Children or teens who wish, or whose parents wish, to receive baptism are directed to the RCIC program.
