There are many opportunities to get involved with the Thanksgiving Baskets:
- Food Collection: Collection began October 14. You can continue to bring your food donations to the bins in the back of church until Sunday, November 12.
- Sorting and Packing: You can help our Holiday Basket team sort and pack our Thanksgiving Baskets in Feist Hall on Wednesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 16 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- Delivery: We will be delivering our Thanksgiving Baskets on Saturday, November 18 beginning at 8:30 a.m. until all baskets have been delivered to the families. Volunteers deliver on a first come, first serve basis.
This program is truly an effort of the “Body of Christ” in conjunction with local community support. St. Charles Borromeo Parish Members are generous with monetary donations directed to holiday giving. Our members are also willing and generous with donating Thanksgiving meals in honor/memory of loved ones and giving of their time and talents during the busy holiday season. Associated General Contractors Union’s Southern District is supportive of the program all year. The members of the union monetarily support the giving program by raising funds all year long. Trader Joe's donates the collection bags. Fred Meyer awards the parish with discounts and special delivery procedures for the large food orders while members and staff of the parish in collaboration with the community work hard to physically prepare the holiday deliveries.
